Commodity Market


The MSE Commodity Market Section operates according to the law of the RF ¹ 2383-1 of February 20, 1992 on Commodity Exchanges and Trade on the Exchange as well as the licence of the Commission for Commodity Exchanges at the RF Ministry of Antimonopoly Policy and Support of Entrepreneurship ¹ 97 of July 13, 1998 and its amendments of August 23, 2001, issued on the organization of exchange trading across Russia in the following commodity groups:

  • Agricultural products;
  • Energy sources (oil and oil products, gas and gas condensate);
  • Irons;
  • Non-ferrous metals and alloys;
  • Constructional materials;
  • Timber;
  • Pharmaceuticals;
  • Industrial equipment and components;
  • Consumer goods;
  • Standardized contracts;
  • Minerals;
  • Chemicals.

Over the time of the MSE Commodity Market Section activity the total volume of trading has reached 66 billion rubles.

According to 2010 annual commodity trading results, over 792 thousand tons of goods worth approximately 6,5 billion roubles were sold and 1661 deals were registered.

Trading in Agricultural products group resulted in 11,6 thousand tons of goods worth approximately 1,3 billion roubles.

Fertilizers trading in Chemicals group resulted in over 452,6 thousand tons of fertilizers worth approximately 4,5 billion roubles, and 568 deals. The price index of the fertilizers increased 42,55 % percent versus 2009 annual index and stood at 10 917.60 points.

Trading in Constructional materials group resulted in 327,8 thousand tons of goods worth approximately 685,1 million roubles, and 1066 deals. The price-weighted index of cement increased 15,51 % compared to previous year and stood at 2 292.22 points.
