Summary of third quarter 2009 commodity trading results.
In the third quarter of 2009 the volume of trading in the MSE Commodity market Section exceeded 317 thousand tons of goods. The Exchange registered 617 transactions totalling over 2 billion roubles (+ 21% compared to the second quarter 2009).
Cement trading in Constructional materials group resulted in over 140 thousand tons of cement worth approximately 326.5 million roubles, and 361 deals. The price index of cement showed a 5.44% drop compared to the second quarter of 2009 and stood at 2 310.09 points. The price-weighted index decreased 8.95% and stood at 2 227.76 points.
Fertilizers trading in Chemicals group resulted in 176.7 thousand tons of fertilizers worth approximately 1.7 billion roubles, and 253 deals. The price index of the group decreased 0.13% versus the second quarter of 2009 and stood at 8 352.73 points.
