MSE President and delegates of European Parliament discuss challenges and development prospects of Russian stock and commodity markets.
On Thursday October 2, 2008 Aleksey Ryzhikov, President of the MSE, met with delegates from the European Parliament, leaded by the Chairwoman of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs Pervenche Beres.
Questions discussed at the meeting included current development trends, challenges of the Russian stock market, problems of financial regulation, impact of international financial crisis on the Russian stock market.
Among other issues, delegates of the European Parliament were particularly interested in measures aimed at the stock market stabilization and enhancement of transparency, changes and amendments to the Russian legislative regulation of the stock market, creation of comfortable environment for western investors, prospects for adoption of a law on direct access of foreign securities to the Russian stock market, as well as increase of the Russian stock and commodity markets attraction for foreign participants.
Delegates of the European Parliament expressed readiness for cooperation and assistance in professional development of the Russian stock and commodity markets participants.
