MSE reviews May 2009 trading results.
In May 2009 the total volume of trading on the MSE reached 789.1 million roubles.
The volume of securities trading exceeded 232.8 million roubles, over 42.2 million securities were sold and 133 transactions were registered.
The MSE technical index increased 6.7% and at the end of the month amounted to 3.345 points.
According to May 2009 commodity trading results, 153.1 thousand tons of goods worth over 540 million roubles (1.6% higher than April results) were sold and 323 deals were registered (1.4 times as much as April figures).
Constructional materials group demonstrated considerable growth. Cement trading volume doubled versus previous month and reached 128.7 thousand tons. Trading in the group resulted in 265 deals (2.2 times as much as April results) worth 265 million roubles (1.8 times as much as figures for the previous month). The price index of the group showed 7% increase as compared to April and amounted to 2 365.68.
Prices for main grades of cement:
- CEM I 42.5 H - 2 083.39 roubles/ton (+ 1.87% as compared to April)
- CEM II / A 42.5 H - 2 871.25 roubles/ton (- 3.76%)
- CEM II / A 32.5 H - 2 005.50 roubles/ton (+ 7.36%)
- CEM II / B 32.5H - 2 115.60 roubles/ton (- 12.40%)
Fertilizers trading in Chemicals group resulted in 24.3 thousand tons of fertilizers worth approximately 275.6 million roubles, and 58 deals. The price index of the group decreased 11.13% versus April and amounted to 8 508.15.

- Ammophos 10 969.33 roubles/ton (- 14.95% as compared to April)
- Diammophoska 10 600 roubles/ton (- 5.22%)
- Nitrogen-phosphate-potash granular fertilizer 8 300 roubles/ton (- 9.75%)
- Complex liquid fertilizer 11 500 roubles/ton (- 3.36%)
- Ammonium nitrate 4 163.27 roubles/ton (-16.99%)
- Potassium chloride 13 500 roubles/ton (no changes)
As a specialized organization, which conducts auctions and tenders for government order placement at the Moscow City Competition Policy Department, the Exchange organized 5 tenders in May on the total amount of 15.5 million roubles.
